BRAILLE is a system of reading and writing by feeling raised dots on paper used by blind people invented and named after French man Louis Braille. Braille is a group of dots and cells which represents the letter of the alphabet. BRAILLE CODE is a set of words or symbols used to send a message.

TEXTBOOK is an instructional materials used in the Elementary, Secondary and Higher Education.

NEMETH is a textbook of any mathematical orientation used in all grade levels.

TACTILE is the drawing, picture, diagram, and any graphic that are converted into raised line for braille readers.

UNCONTRACTED BRAILLE also called as Grade 1 Braille is full use of the letter of the alphabet, punctuations, numbers, and a number of composition signs. 

CONTRACTED BRAILLE also called grade 2 Braille consists of Uncontracted Braille and the 189 contractions and short-form words known as the “English Braille.”

BRAILLE FORMAT in general is based on the print format. Braille edition format provides an accurate presentation of the print text in conformity with the rules of the “Principles of Print to Braille Transcription, 1997.” There are Code exceptions for Technical materials and partially technical works such as Computer, Music, Mathematics and Science texts, Flowcharts and the like.  Special formats are also applied for Kindergarten and first grade textbooks.
